Madelyn Levitt Teacher Award

Since 1994, the Madelyn Levitt Teacher of the Year Award has recognized a faculty member for his or her superior teaching. The award is named in honor of Madelyn Levitt's commitment to Drake and her ongoing interest in faculty achievement and academic excellence.

The award for teaching excellence, seeks to recognize faculty who exhibit:

  • an informed mind in inspirational dialogue with students
  • integrity in person relationships
  • rigor in intellectual endeavors
  • contagious enthusiasm for her/his subject matter
