If you are planning research that involves human subjects, you’ll need to submit your plans to the Institutional Review Board (IRB). The IRB will review your project and make sure it protects the rights of your research subjects and meets ethical and government guidelines. The board may suggest changes to your plan, so approval should be sought well in advance of your intended start date.
