Human Subjects Research Training
Approval of an Expedited or Full-Board proposal requires that the investigator and colleagues provide evidence of human subjects research training.
Training can be obtained through an IRB tutorial at the US Institutes of Health Office of Extramural Research website:
As of Fall 2010 Drake will also accept training from CITI Program, and research ethics training collaborative. You can access the website at the link below:
CITI offers differentiated training for social/behavioral researchers and biomedical researchers. In addition, there are training modules for IRB members. Drake University students are advised to do the CITI training instead of NIH as Drake was able to customize the modules offered to students to best meet their training needs.
