Academic ResourcesTools to aid your educational experience The University academic resources are in place to help you succeed. Whether you want to improve your skills in studying or time management, explore a variety of academic disciplines, join campus organizations, or learn about career options, Drake has the resources to help you. LibrariesCowles Library (Drake’s main library) and the Drake University Law Library have all the resources you need to succeed academically. Both libraries have wireless Internet access as well as individual and group study areas. Academic AssistanceDrake empowers you to take responsibility for your own academic success. You have the opportunity to participate in supplemental instruction programs in many academic areas and in Drake’s Learning Communities. And if you want to talk to others about setting and reaching goals, choosing classes, improving study habits or other topics, you can turn to your adviser, your professors, Drake’s assistant to the provost for academic enhancement and/or Professional and Career Development Services staff. TechnologyTechnology is incorporated into all majors and many classes at Drake. Wireless Internet access is available across campus and every residence hall room has two ethernet ports giving students full, high-speed connections to the campus-wide network, World Wide Web and e-mail. In addition, cable television and voice mail are available in the residence halls. Students are expected to bring their own computers to campus, but they may also use computer labs located conveniently across campus.
