Air Force Academy Quintet to give free recital

Drake University will host the United States Air Force Academy Band’s Rampart Winds Woodwind Quintet for a performance on Wednesday, Nov. 11.
The free, public recital will begin at 8 p.m. on the Jordan Stage in Sheslow Auditorium, 2507 University Ave.
Rampart Winds, one of 10 performing ensembles in the United States Air Force Academy Band, is the academy’s traditional woodwind quintet. The group performs a diverse repertoire of original works, standard and contemporary compositions and patriotic favorites.
A second performance also will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15, at the Des Moines Symphony Academy Temple for Performing Arts, 1011 Locust St.
