RESIDENCE LIFE

Home. Community. Fun.

In Drake’s seven undergraduate co-ed halls, you will meet your first friends on campus - your roommate and your neighbors — and other people from diverse backgrounds, both geographical and cultural.

  • Nearly 92 percent of first-year students and 81 percent of upper-class students live on campus in one of Drake’s residence halls.
  • First-year students are housed in the four first-year halls.
  • Upper-class students can choose from four residence halls that offer traditional, suite and apartment style living.
  • All of Drake residence halls have been renovated within the past five years and are air-conditioned.

First-Year Residence

Full-time students must live in a Drake residence hall for all periods of enrollment within two years following high school graduation unless they are married, live at home or live with relatives.

The Drake Residence Hall Association sponsors dozens of activities to get you out of your room and involved.

Living Off Campus

Drake University Real Estate assists eligible students in acquiring off-campus housing. All rentals units are located in the surrounding area within walking distance of Drake.

Drake’s 3,000+ full-time undergraduate students from around the U.S. and more than 56 countries find it easy to mix and mingle with the 500,000 citizens in the metropolitan area.
