Major: Public Relations
Hometown: Maple Grove, Minnesota
My experiences as a Drake student include: Spending a full semester studying abroad in Rome and living just up the street from the Colosseum; being the marketing executive officer of the largest programming group on campus—the Student Activities Board; hosting a weekly radio show with my best friend my first year
Favorite Drake Memory: One of my favorite moments at Drake happened my sophomore year during “Bulldog Madness”—a pep rally event for the Drake men and women’s basketball teams. There were contests, impressive dunks, free food and free Drake gear… and that wasn’t even the best part. At the end of the night, one Drake student had the chance to win a Ford F-150 if he could make four shots in 30 seconds. It came down to the last second, but Alex won the truck with a buzzer beater shot from half court. The place went absolutely wild, I literally fell out of my chair I was so excited! Immediately after, all of us stormed the court, surrounded Alex and lifted him up above the crowd. It was an awesome end to an awesome night!
Advice for students during the college search: Come in with an open mind and don’t be afraid to ask tons of questions!
If you go on tour with me, you’ll get to hear my Minnesotan accent and a few bad jokes.
