In 2012, Sheila A. Wolfe, JO’52, a graduate of Drake University and retired long-time executive employee of the Chicago Tribune, established
an annual scholarship for an incoming first-year student from the Chicago area pursuing an undergraduate degree in news-Internet journalism.

The general admission application, official school transcript, SAT or ACT scores, recommendation form, and $25 admission application fee (waived for online applicants) must be postmarked no later than Feb. 1, 2013. It is recommended that candidates make a copy of their scholarship materials before mailing and obtain a certificate of mailing from a postal clerk to verify postmark date.
Sheila A. Wolfe spent her career working at the Chicago Tribune, pioneering a new career path for women journalists through her roles as reporter, associate editor, and recruitment director. Today she spends much of her time traveling throughout the world. When at her home in Chicago, she enjoys reading at least three newspapers a day and practicing Tai Chi as well as the banjo.
