Types of Aid 2

From awards based on your academic success and talents to aid based on financial need, Drake has many avenues to help make your dream of a Drake education an affordable reality.

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of talent or achievement in academics, athletics, or the arts rather than on financial need. Your eligibility for various scholarships may be determined from information submitted in your application for admission, via a separate application, or by working with individual departments at Drake.

Almost all grants are awarded on the basis of financial need. You are automatically considered for all federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs through the filing of your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Loans & Alternative Financing Options

Many students use loans and alternative financing options, in addition to scholarships and grants, to help pay for college.

Even More Options

In addition to working with Drake’s Office of Student Financial Planning, you can find more excellent sources for financial assistance, scholarships, and fellowships on the Web.
