LIFE AT DRAKE
Residence Life
Home. Community. Fun.
Your residence hall is much more than a place to sleep. It's where you'll develop new friendships, participate in organized activities, broaden your perspectives and discover new interests. In other words, it's home — and more.
Campus Housing
As a first-year student, you’ll live in one of five residence halls. First-year students live in Stalnaker, Herriott, Carpenter or Crawford — also known as The Quads — or on first-year floors in Morehouse. Every floor has its own residence assistant (RA) who is available as a friend and resource. In addition to on-campus housing, there are other options available to upperclass students.
First Year Experience
Your new home will provide you with numerous opportunities to get involved, from running for a position on your Residence Hall Council to being a member of the Residence Hall Association. Each hall hosts social activities for its residents — and many have become proud, quirky traditions unique to a specific hall. Your residence hall will also serve as a learning community where you will live with individuals in your First Year Seminar, a class developed specifically to ease the transition from high school to college life.
