Drake Alumni Windy City Golf Outing and Banquet

Please mark your calenders NOW for the 15th annual Windy City Golf Outing, which will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the Makray Memorial Golf Club in Barrington IL. Please see below a tentative schedule of events. If you are interested in being on the committee for this fun event, please e-mail John Brown in the Drake Alumni office.

A scramble (or best-ball) format of play will be used. Each golfer will tee off and the group will select the best ball to play. You must use each golfer’s tee shot at least once during the round. The team should maintain one score. Please return the score card to the registration table before or at the reception.
Raffle tickets will be sold throughout the day. Tickets are $5 each, or 5 for $20. We have a variety of raffle prizes that will be displayed in the banquet room. You can also purchase mulligans for $5 each, with a limit of 2 (one per nine holes).
While you’re on the course, there will be a few other fun opportunities for prizes. First there is the Double-or-Nothing Shot! A pot will start on Hole # 4. Make a contribution (minimum $5, maximum $20) before your shot. If you hit the green, you will get your money back plus 100% of your initial contribution. All donations will go toward the scholarship. Additionally, there will be “contest holes” (e.g. longest drive, closest to pin, etc) at various locations on the course. We will announce those holes at registration.
The cost for this year's event is only $140 (if you register by May 15, otherwise $150) per person and includes:
- 18 holes of golf plus cart
- Practice range balls
- Box lunch
- Golf gift
- Drink tickets
- Dinner buffet, with evening program and live auction
If you don't golf, no problem! Come and join your fellow alumni and friends for dinner at a cost of $40 per person. You can also sponsor a hole for $150. For more information on hole sponsorships, please contact john.brown@drake.edu.
