Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences

Drake University seeks a visionary and inspiring academic dean with the skills, energy, and experience to lead the  College of Arts and Sciences. Drake  is a private, midsize, comprehensive University of approximately 5,000 students located in Des Moines, the capital city of Iowa.

As the chief academic officer of the College of Arts and Sciences, the dean is responsible for visionary leadership, the development and management of both staff and budget, and clear and persuasive communication with internal and external constituents. The dean is an effective advocate for the college and in the community, and provides collaborative yet decisive leadership.

The College of Arts and Sciences is home to a distinguished faculty of 135 engaged scholar-teachers, serving in 20 departments and programs across 44 majors, 27 minors, and seven areas of concentration. The college provides exceptional education in the sciences, fine arts, humanities, and social sciences, and emphasizes experiential learning, collaborative learning, and innovative approaches.
