Fall 2005 Syllabus

Lab Reports: Lab reports will be due at 2:00 on the Tuesday following the lab. They will generally be handed out at the beginning of lab, but there may be preliminary material as well, or occasionally supplementary material will be available on the Tuesday following the lab.

Projects: Students will spend significant time during the semester developing and carrying out a group project. Groups of two to four students will study a question of local environmental relevance, and will present their findings at a poster session at the end of the semester. Some suggested topics can be found here.

Grading: Your final grade will be calculated as follows:

Lab Reports (lowest grade dropped): 160 pts.
Progress Reports: 30 pts.
Final Poster: 80 pts.
Poster Explanation: 50 pts.
