Julianna's Page

julianna at the beach Here's our daughter Julianna. She's thinking hard. She looks like an imp because she is one. Oh, wait, no, she's a joy.

Julianna used to love knock-knock jokes. She would tell the same knock-knock joke ten times in a row before taking a breath. Her favorite knock-knock joke went as follows:

knock-knock
Who's there?
Interrupting cow.
Interrupting cow who?
Interrupting cow MOO!
Now, in most less experienced hands, the humor value of this knock-knock joke comes when you say MOO! in the middle of the question "Interrupting cow, who?", but Julianna has determined that it is much funnier if it conforms to the general form of standard knock-knock jokes. She should know, as she has told this one more than any other human alive. Sadly, she has now outgrown her knock-knock joke phase...

Julianna is also the world's most prolific singer. She sings songs constantly. If you sing her a song once, she will usually know it forevermore. Once her parents learn how to record onto the computer, you will be able to hear her little snail song, and you will know that all is right in the world. She knows the words to more top-40 songs than her parents, but she'll never sing on demand.

Recently, Lianna was sitting at the table looking extremely cute. Her Daddy came up to her, thinking how small she looked, and said adoringly "Julianna, you have a little head!", to which Julianna replied, without looking up "Daddy, you have a little brain." We can't wait until Julianna is a teenager...

Here are some pictures of her last summer (click on the thumbnail to enlarge):

We could be a hundred miles away and Julianna would neither notice nor care, if she has something interesting to do. Singing to herself usually suffices. Julianna is the little dot in the distance in this picture:
