Here are the girls getting their photos taken with Jane Goodall when she came to speak at Drake. Julianna has been a fan for quite some time.

We spent a week in Lake Panorama, a popular vacation site in Iowa. But really, vacation is all about having your kids make you breakfast.

In the spring, Julianna had her dance performance. The dances are quite elaborate, and the costumes are a hoot!

Kayleigh's art was displayed at the State Historical Building. Her description of the piece (the one on the bottom) reads:

In the first half, the despair is all caught up on itself. Even though hope is hovering around it, it won't reach out. Then, a single tendril reaches out to hope, which becomes even larger than despair."

We love to get cheese from "Prairie Chevre," a goat farm owned collectively by three women living not far from Des Moines. Here Julianna is inspecting the operation.

There are a lot of complaints these days about the amount of stuff that kids have to carry around in their backpacks at school. Here you can begin to understand the hidden scandal for the unlucky few whose parents don't drive them to school!
