The wife of Pastor Diego is a health promoter. We visit her in a small hut, while a man works on a foot loom weaving material for use in skirts. Juana Maria tells us about her work on preventing parasitic diseases and malnutrition, among other things. Many of the health problems in rural Guatemala are readily preventable, but remain without a concerted effort to educate those affected. With Juana Maria, we discuss everything from the low vaccination rate to indoor fires and home births.
