Ana Ramirez of the Secretariat for Peace discusses the eleven Peace Accords, and where they each are in terms of implementation. We learn about the difficulties of implementation in some cases, and how they each tie in with the goal of addressing the root causes of the internal conflict. One of the points Ms. Ramirez makes is how countries can learn from each other: El Salvadorans helped Guatemala to work through some of the problems that the former had in implementing their peace agreements, and Guatemala is now working with Colombia on attaining peace in that country. She explains that peace can be a long and difficult road, but many leave the meeting with hope that the Peace Accords promise a better future for Guatemala.
