Prensa Libre is Guatemala's major newspaper. Throughout our stay, many are impressed with the openness of the reporting in Prensa Libre on an ongoing corruption scandal, for example. Pilar and Enrique give us a sense of how freedom of the press has changed since the early 80s when journalists were killed, exiled, and threatened, but there is still a reluctance to deal with some sensitive issues.
