After the Chichicastenango market, we head back to Guatemala city for the night, but don't stay long. By 7:00 am Monday morning we are back in the busses and heading to Rio Dulce.
Rio Dulce is a national park set in the estuary between a large lake and Gulf. While we are in Guatemala, a debate rages about how to allow oil production in the lake. We take a two hour boat ride to Ak Tenamit, and along the way see countless birds and get our first experience of the rainforest.
