Students are encouraged to develop additional depth in focus areas of interest to them beyond the common required outline.  One of the programs strengths is in the flexibility of the curriculum to match the interests and needs of each student.

Environmental Policy
The environmental policy major is designed to develop a basic level of understanding of environmental science in an interdisciplinary setting.  An emphasis, however, is placed on courses that foster familiarity with the social, economic, and political systems that comprise the policy-making environment.  Graduates of the program will be well prepared to undertake graduate study of environmental law of policy, as well as to work in governmental and non-governmental capacities on environmental issues.

Environmental Science
This interdisciplinary science degree prepares students in a liberal arts tradition to understand connections between human beings and the Earth environment.  Drake environmental science students are not only grounded in classical science disciplines but also develop the additional ability to synthesize information across disciplines.  Graduates of the program will be well prepared to undertake graduate study in diverse fields of environmental sciences, as well as to work in governmental and non-governmental capacities on environmental issues.

Below is an example of the courses a student may take in a traditional four-year plan for a degree in Environmental Science.
