We're glad you're checking out Drake

Drake ENSP is a fully interdisciplinary program, with course offerings ranging from largely science-based like conservation biology to largely policy based like environmental justice. Even these rely on information from many disciplines, and most of our courses teach students to engage in all levels of environmental discourse. At Drake you will learn skills that will get you a job (for example Geographic Information Systems); get hands-on experience with ecosystems management; learn techniques that will help you to solve problems (for example experimental design and data analysis); analyze how public policy is formulated and how to implement change; and learn ways of thinking about the world, its people, and our environment that will help you make some of the most important decisions in your life, like how to live and what career will fulfill your multidimensional needs. All students will spend some time in the field, and those who choose to will have the opportunity to explore a multitude of ecosystems, from prairies to woodlands, from lakes to oceans (the last in Mississippi, not Iowa). Explore our website to find out more, or contact any of our faculty for more information.
