Drake’s Bulldog Brass is an integral part of the highflying excitement of Missouri Valley Conference Basketball. Comprised of 20 brass and rhythm section players, the Brass performs at all men’s and women’s home basketball games, helping create the home court advantage that make Drake’s Knapp Center one of the most difficult venues in the Valley. Bulldog Brass accompanies the basketball teams to their conference tournaments as well the NCAA’s. In recent years, Bulldog Brass has traveled to St. Louis, Springfield, MO, Hartford, CT, Raleigh, NC and, in 2002, with the women’s Basketball team to Waco, TX, during their historic run to the NCAA Sweet 16.
