Christine Fortner Blanner is a soprano and stage
director from Kirkwood, Missouri. Christine received
her Bachelor of Music from Drake in 2003 after which
she moved to Boston, MA and received her Masters of
Music from the New England Conservatory of Music in
2006, graduating with academic honors. Christine has
performed many operatic roles all over the country and
has sung throughout Europe in Italy, Switzerland, and
France. Christine's opera roles include Adele in Die
Fledermaus, Mme. Heartmelt in The Impressario,
Bastienne in Bastien und Bastienne, Clara in Signor
Deluso, Juliet in The Little Sweep, and Second Woman
in Dido and Aeneas. An active and enthusiastic stage
director, Christine has directed scenes programs and
shows for the New England Conservatory and the Boston
Opera Project. She most recently directed A Game of
Chance by Barab and Hansel and Gretel by Humperdink in
Boston. Later this year Christine will perform the
roles of Polly Peachum in Threepenny Opera by Weil and
Morgana in Alcina by Handel.
