Tom Sletto

Tom Sletto is currently Director of Music Ministries at Faith Lutheran Church,a western suburban church of 1500 members, in Clive, IA. He has held this post since May 2002.

Sletto received his B.A. in Music Education from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN in 1975 and his M.A.M.E. from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN in 1992.

His specialities include Kodaly Certification as well as studies in Orff and Dalcroze. Tom has composed various unpublished works for adult and children's choirs used in worship experiences. He brings many years of leadership experience from positions in statewide, regional, and national professional music organizations. His professional organization memberships include ADCA-ICDA; OAKE-MKMEA; AOSA-DM Chapter; and MENC-IMEA. In addition he has been Adjunct Professor of Music Education at Drake University and teaches summer courses in Continuing Education for Music Educators in the Kodaly approach. He is currently serving on the music education faculty at Central College, Pella, IA.

His professional responsibilities at Faith include administrating the entire music program staffed with professionals and volunteers; collaborating with pastoral staff in worship planning; conducting Agape Bell Choir, Campanilla Bell Choir, the adult Chancel Choir as well as the older elementary Messiah Choir; and administrating and conducting the Soli Deo Musica fine arts series. He is currently working on the Associate In Ministry certification based on the synod and national E.L.C.A. guidelines.
