Central Mission of the Organization:

The Iowa Immigrant Rights Network is a group of organizations and individuals who seek to serve, support and advocate for immigrants, including those immigrants who are least represented and least supported in our society - the undocumented. The Network brings these organizations and individuals together to better communicate with each other, and to coordinate efforts on behalf of immigrants.

History of the Organization:

The Iowa Immigrant Rights Network was formed in the spring of 1996 in response to several raids staged by the INS at meat packing factories in Iowa. Since then, the organization has grown to over 300 people statewide. We have held two statewide meetings as well as lobby days and other events. We are currently investigating the possibility of hiring staff.
