Central Mission of the Organization:

To empower women to work effectively for peace and justice in 100 communities and 37 countries around the world.

History of the Organization:

Formed in 1915 to unite women in opposition to World War I and to oppression and exploitation. WILPF stands for equality, peace and disarmament and changing government priorities to meet human needs.

International Issues and Focus:

Focus of local chapter currently on "Challenging Corporate Power."
