Fine Arts Honor scholarships in Art are merit based and determined primarily through considering the quality of the art work submitted.
Must students major or minor in a Fine Arts program to receive a Fine Arts Honor scholarship?
A student applying for the Fine Arts Honor Scholarship in Art must be a full-time student planning to be an Art History, Graphic Design or Studio Art major.
What preparation and materials are necessary for applying for the Fine Arts Honor Scholarship?
Complete an electronic application which requires 8 to 10 digital images (viewable from the department website and active to receive applications after January 1).
What images should I include?
You should submit the best examples from your portfolio. We also suggest you include artwork derived from direct observation.
What are the procedures/timetables for art scholarships?
The electronic application deadline is March 1. If funds are still available, the faculty will meet again on April 1 to review late arriving applications.
What is the process/timetable for notification of awards?
After a faculty review of portfolios, notification of awards will be mailed out by the end of March.
What are the criteria for renewal?
The Fine Arts Honor Scholarship will be renewed annually for full time art majors in good academic standing (2.0 GPA up to 60 credits hours and 2.5 GPA thereafter).
