Program Review
at Drake, 2000-2001
Working with the Board of Governors,
Cabinet, Deans and Faculty Senate, President Maxwell early this year initiated a
process to review Drake's academic and administrative programs. The review was launched
in the strategic context of re-focusing Drake's institutional mission and vision
of its future, and as part of a long-range planning initiative.
Steering committees have been named to begin both the academic and administrative
review processes. These groups will complete important initial stages of their work
during Spring semester 2000. For more information, follow the links at the top of
the page.
Programs throughout the university, academic and non-academic will submit program
reviews. The academic reviews will be analyzed and prioritized first within each
college then forwarded to the Provost for review. Initial non-academic/administrative
review will be completed by the Steering Committee for that area.
A Review and Priorities Advisory Committee (RPAC) comprised of representatives of
all Drake constituencies will be named by the end of March. The committee will work
with the Provost and the President to develop recommendations for programmatic priorities
and budgetary reallocation. In January 2001, the administration will make final recommendations
to the Board of Governors.
