Denise Oles earned her BA in Journalism from Ball State University in 1995. In 2004 she earned her M.A. in Speech Communication from Wayne State University and is currently working to complete her PhD in Communication Studies.
At Drake, she teaches Public Speaking, but she has previously taught Persuasive Movements and Campaigns, Mass Media Ethics, and Business Communication and Professional Presentations. Her research area includes studying the rhetoric of apology discourse and the image repair techniques of women compared to men.
