Ramesh C. Dhussa received his B.A. (Hons.) and M.A. both in geography from the Patna University, Patna, Bihar, India. He taught in the post-graduate department of geography, Magadh Universty, Bodh Gaya, Bihar, India. Before coming to the Drake university he was a visiting assistant professor at the Southwest Missouri State University, Springfield, Missouri. In the United States he did another M.A. in geography from the University of Akron, Ohio and Ph.D. in geography from the Kent State University, Ohio. His dissertation topic is "Urban Images of Delhi Through Literature: A Study in Humanistic Geography". His research interests are in Literary geography, Cultural geography and geographic themes of South Asia. He teaches Human geography, Cultural geography, World Regional geography, Regional geography of South Asia, Europe, Asia, and Africa. He is a member of the steering committee of the Geographic Alliance of Iowa. He is a member of the Association of American Geographers and a life member of the National Association of Geographers, India.
