Costuming Lab |

* All Costuming students are required to register for 1 credit hour of Lab in the
same semester they are registered for Costuming. A separate grade is given for each,
Costuming and Lab.
* Students are required to work a minimum of 60 lab hours in the semester. 60 work
hours will guarantee a minimum grade of C.
* Working more than 60 hours, exceptional quality of work, and good attitude are
all factors that could elevate your grade standing.
* Lab is open Monday through Friday 3-5:00 p.m. - Occasionally there will be a Saturday
Work call that you will be required to attend for either the morning or afternoon
session.
* You will be assigned times / days to work. Once set, it is expected that you will
work your schedule as assigned. Illness, death, or other emergency situations are
the only excused absences from lab.
* Avoid scheduling advisor meetings, registration sessions, doctor appointments or
other conflicts during lab time. LAB is a class.
* Failure to report to lab as assigned 2 or more times will result in being dropped
from the class with a grade of F.
* Being tardy more than 1/2 hour will be counted as an unexcused absence for the
day.
* Occasionally, there is a light work day and you may be asked to leave early. If
this occurs, you will receive full hour credit for the time you were scheduled to
work.
IE: if you were to work 3-5, you may record the full 2 hours even though you may
have only worked for 15 minutes.
* Hours are to be recorded daily in the Costume Shop Work Log book. The log book
will be checked periodically by a costume shop employee, and initialed by the lab
supervisor.
* Lab time is to be used efficiently. It is the responsibility of the student to
seek work and work at a steady pace.
* Technical lab assistants are available to help you with questions and skills. Use
them and respect them.
