Elections

ASC committees assist Human Resources and other key groups on campus with strategic projects. Each committee has an appointed chair and co-chair who serve on the Executive Board of the ASC. The Executive Board meets monthly to hear reports from the committees and, as necessary, act on them.

Below is a summary of each committee. During the nomination and election process, note the area in which you, or someone you know, would be interested in serving. This is your way of becoming involved in the Drake community and helping with All Staff Council decisions that affect all of us. Elected members will serve a three year term starting June 1. See a current list of ASC committee members and their term ending dates.

How All Staff Council Elections Work

First, a call for nominations will be sent out to all eligible Drake staff members during the latter part of the spring semester through email and BlueView announcements. Links to nomination forms will be provided in the announcement with information about how many vacant seats in each committee need to be filled. Please feel free to nominate yourself or someone you feel will represent Drake staff on an ASC committee.  An individual can be nominated for more than one ASC committee, but can only be elected to one committee. Nominations will be taken for about a week, but remain open until the final ballot is made available. Terms are for three years and begin June 1.

Next, about one week after the nomination process, a final election ballot will be opened for eligible Drake staff to elect their new ASC representatives. Notification will again be sent out to eligible Drake staff through email and BlueView announcements.

Eligible candidates are defined by ASC rules as:

  • All Drake University non-faculty, non-bargaining individuals
  • Currently employed by the University
