Special Events/Community Service

The Special Events/Community Service Committee develops and implements plans for special events on campus and creates awareness of community service opportunities available for staff participation.

2016-2017 Planned Events:

  • September 2, 2016—“Welcome Back” Commit-‘mint’ Visit
  • October 28, 2016—Community Service Project – Meals from the Heartland
  • February 15, 2017—Spring Wellness Activity
  • May 17, 2017—Summer Kick-off Kickball Tournament

Join in reading with the University Book Club! 

All are welcome—4 books are selected during an academic year, and group discussions are held at the end of each book’s reading period.

  • Fall Break—The Nest by Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney
  • Winter Break—Hidden Figures by Margot Shetterly
  • Spring Break— Bottomland by Michelle Hoover
  • Summer Break—Lab Girl by Hope Jahren
