Minors on Campus Hiring Practices

Steps for Hiring: drafted 1.29.2018

1.  Create brief job descriptions for the various employee/volunteer roles

2.  Screen Applicants:

a.  Run background checks on those working with minors by notifying Drake Human Resources for a Request Form? DB link it

b.  Based on Drake  identified background hiring criteria, Human Resources notifies department head of an applicant approval or not

c.   Program leaders attempts to confirm applicants pertinent experience and references.

d.  If hired, the applicant will need to provide medical emergency information and medical release as part of theMinors Volunteer Application and Releases form

e.  Hired applicant signs a waiver/release to participate as a program worker under the program leader within the Minors Volunteer Application and Releases form.
