Brian Vander Naald, Ph.D.

Associate Professor of Economics and Research Coordinator

Dr. Vander Naald received a B.A. in Mathematics from Miami University (Ohio), an M.A. in Economics from the University of Montana, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Oregon. Prior to his current position at Drake University, he was an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Alaska Southeast in Juneau, Alaska.

His research includes using revealed and stated preference non-market valuation techniques to examine topics such as the value of public parks (California), the recreational value of glaciers (Alaska), and recreational value of improved water quality (Iowa). His work has been published in Ecological Economics and Land Economics.
