Here is an extremely brief biography: Born: January 10, 1949 in St. Louis Park, Minnesota Education: B.S. in Business Administration with an Actuarial Science major - Drake University, 1970; Ph.D. in Statistics - University of Minnesota, 1975 Professional Designation: Fellow, Society of Actuaries, 1978 Employment: 1974-1988 - Assistant, then Associate Professor of Actuarial Science - The University of Iowa; 1987-present - Principal Financial Group Professor of Actuarial Science at Drake University Honors: Drake University College of Business and Public Administration Undergraduate Teacher of the Year, 1996-97; Drake University International Students' Teacher of the Year, 1998-99; Elected member of the Society of Actuaries Board of Governors, 1997-2000. Elected Vice-President of the Society of Actuaries 2001-2003. Books authored: You've made it this far, so you get to look at my family just before we rode down the volcano on Maui in 1998.
