Ames & Quad Cities M.P.A. Cohorts

A weekend graduate program designed for public, nonprofit, and healthcare professionals completed in 24 months in Ames or Davenport, IA.

The mission for the Drake University MPA degree program is to develop within the professional the ability to transform, lead and direct organizations in a dynamic environment.  The program and courses are multidisciplinary in nature recognizing the ever-changing environment and relationship between private, public and nonprofit sectors.

This comprehensive weekend-based MPA program is ideal for working professionals living within a 75 minute driving distance of Ames or Davenport, IA.  Students admitted to the weekend Drake MPA will complete the 12 course/36 credit hour program within a 24 month time frame. Classes are pursued one course at a time to allow in-depth exploration of each topic before moving on to the next subject.  Classes are taught by the same highly regarded Drake faculty who teach in our Des Moines campus evening program.  Since the first admitted MPA class of 1973, thousands of Drake MPA graduates are making a valuable contribution to our society.

Drake University’s Principal Financial Group Center for Global Citizenship (PFGCGC) will host a discussion on the Keystone XL Pipeline initiative in collaboration with the Iowa Energy Forum. General James Jones, a former national security advisor, will discuss the benefits of the pipeline initiative.
