(ISIT 050 – an AOI Alternative)
What? ISIT 050, Fluency with Information
Technology, is a three-credit course that develops the fundamental knowledge of
relationships among hardware, software, networks and people. Students will gain
advanced skills with the Office Suite and other technology tools that will
prepare participants to engage intelligently and thoughtfully with technology
in the world around them and in the future. This course has been designated as
ÒapprovedÓ for the AOI competency of Information Literacy.
is one of the Tier 1 courses in DrakeÕs interdisciplinary concentration (18 hours) in information technology.
Fluency with IT will sufficiently prepare students to continue with Tier
3 (Discipline-specific Information Technology Applications) courses of their
choosing.
