In May 2016, University administration will approve and adopt a definition of diversity and inclusion at Drake. This initiative was one of the recommendations put forth by the Strategic Diversity and Action Team based on the results of the Campus Climate Assessment. All faculty, staff, and students are invited to provide input on the proposed statement. Complete this Qualtrics survey to share your thoughts—the statement is provided in the survey. The survey will be open until Wednesday, April 20.

We Make Drake.

During the 2014–2015 academic year, Drake undertook a vital and relevant climate assessment, which culminated with a campus-wide survey in February 2015. Now, it's time to turn those results into action.

In March 2016, the Strategic Diversity Action Team (SDAT) released its recommendations on action steps to move the University forward: Drake University Campus Climate Project 2016–2017 Actions Steps/Priorities

These recommendations are based on the climate assessment survey and the findings from the Next Step Forums, which more than 300 faculty, staff, and students participated in. A Summary of Needs and Commitments was provided to SDAT from which to make its final recommendation.

Next up is a campus discussion regarding University-wide diversity and inclusion statement that will be adopted in May 2016:

When: Wednesday, April 13
Time: 3–4:30 p.m.
Where: Parents Hall
All faculty, staff, and students are welcome.

We encourage you review the available resources detailing the results from the survey and the full report of findings from the Next Steps Forum, and email wemakedrake@drake.edu with any questions or comments about the survey or next steps. Check back often for updates on the status of this important campus initiative.
