Communications Strategy & Planning

UC oversees the University’s integrated marketing and communications strategies.

In addition to managing media relations, internal communications, and institutional advertising, UC professionals work with each of Drake’s schools, colleges, and key administrative offices. The staff develops comprehensive communications and marketing strategies to help University clients effectively deliver reputation-defining messages that reinforce Drake’s identity in the higher education marketplace, the media, and both local and online communities.

The UC team partners with faculty and staff to determine key ideas and themes, target audiences, and appropriate communication vehicles, including brochures, ads, websites, news releases, and social media.
