His success at positioning PharmServ as Iowa's leading pharmacist provider involves integrating multiple business areas in order to deliver record-breaking placement solutions. For example, he generates compelling service protocol processes on the pharmacist experience side and engineers more effective personnel matching, service marketing, and management processes on the enterprise side. He also devised solutions to expand the state's coverage of rural areas.
In addition to business development accomplishments, Felix's leadership talents involve managing the full range of enterprise challenges. His achievements building a successful brandcovers: market segmentation analyses, all aspects of professional services positioning (advertising, branding, promotion, marketing), finance (including accounting, bookkeeping, billing, and compliance), strategic partner negotiations, and market-responsive content development. Felix not only overcame all the challenges involved in starting up a successful venture but he won a Department of Administrative Services for the State of Iowa contract that positioned the enterprise for long-term growth and regional expansion.
Felix received his pharmacy doctorate from Drake University in Iowa but completed his high school education in Florida. His athletic prowess in football and wrestling extended from high school to college. He won the highest honors for high school athletics and was one of the top wrestlers in the state. His football college career as a first team member include three years as an All American and All Conference Player and he won the college's top athlete honors, the Jerry Howlett Award. Throughout his tenures with Wal-Mart and PharmServ, Felix served as a community resource in terms of academics, athletics, and community and industry service despite intense professional commitments. He serves as a model entrepreneur for the Hispanic community and has frequently served in executive and liaison roles for the Alianza Hispanic Business Association. There have been very few years where he has not served as a youth coach for football. He was appointed to Drake University College of Pharmacy National Advisory Council and is a Board Member for the Zeta Kappa Lambda Educational Foundation. Felix was the former President, Zeta Kappa Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated. His professional memberships include Iowa Pharmacists Association, Johnston Chamber of Commerce, and Greater Des Moines Partnership. For IPA, Felix serves as delegate to the annual state convention and has done so for the last threeyears; he serves on the Policy Committee on Professional Affairs. Since 2002, his community service includes personally mentoring 24 high school youth from ethnically diverse backgrounds.
Felix was born in Brooklyn, New York. Married to Sara, a marketing leader with Des Moines' West Bank. Their son Felix Jr. was born Sept. 24, 2000.
