Background:
Douglas Meyer retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs after a long career in pharmacy and health care management.  Doug served for over 20 years as a VA Medical Center Pharmacy Director beginning in 1980.  His later career involved a period as Network Pharmacy Executive in Texas and a Veterans Integrated Service Network Clinical line manager for MO, KS and Southern IL for Radiology, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Prosthetics and Information Management.  Retiring from the VA in 2002, Doug began consulting in health care operations for hospital systems and in the pharmaceutical industry for federal sales.  From 2006 thru 2012, Doug was a Federal Account Manager for Novartis Pharmaceuticals and continues to consult for the firm since retirement.  Doug has an intense interest in field trialing bird dogs and has won national championship titles with English Pointers he has bred and handled.  Doug is married to Grace who continues to work for the VA and they have two grown sons.
