FAQ

Question:
I’m planning to apply for admission in the fall semester of my senior year. Will it really matter what classes I take in my senior year?

Answer: Yes! Continuing to take challenging courses in the senior year better prepares students to do well in the pre-pharmacy curriculum and to take advantage of the guaranteed entrance to the professional program – and getting into the professional program is what it’s all about. Students should not underestimate the difficulty of the first year of college because it is both an academic as well as social adjustment. Taking a somewhat easier load in the senior year makes the transition to college-level coursework that much harder.

A strong senior-year curriculum will also help students in the admission process. As the Admission Committee considers all applicants for direct admission to the CPHS, one factor it will specifically look at will be the strength of the senior-year curriculum.
