Pre-pharmacy Admission for students entering directly out of high school.
The Drake PharmD Difference is provided to admitted pre-pharmacy students entering directly out of high school.

Benefits of the Drake PharmD Difference:
- Guaranteed consideration, including the opportunity to interview and complete a writing assessment
- Beginning with the first year of pre-pharmacy, an opportunity to meet and work with a faculty mentor as well as utilize College resources available through the Office of Academic and Student Affairs.
- Professional pharmacy and state organization membership as early as the first year of pre-pharmacy.
- Orientation courses include interview preparation, shadowing opportunities, career exploration, and university preparation.
- PCAT not required.

Requirements of the Drake PharmD Difference (to be completed by the end of the spring semester of the second year of pre-pharmacy unless otherwise indicated):
- Direct admission out of high school into the pre-pharmacy program.
- Earn a minimum of a 3.00 required math/science grade point average and a 3.00 overall grade point average at Drake University. Courses may be repeated one time.

Complete all required math/science pre-pharmacy course work:
- Biology 12/12L, 13/13L, and 95 (general biology plus labs; microbiology),
- Chemistry 1, 2, 3, 4, 107, 108, 109, 110 (inorganic and organic chemistry plus labs)
- Mathematics 50 (calculus)
- Statistics 60
- In the event that some of the above courses were completed during high school through Advanced Placement and/or dual credit with another institution, complete all remaining required math and science course work at Drake.
- Complete a total of 63 credits including additional pre-pharmacy requirements by the end of the summer term prior to enrollment in the professional program.
- Complete the PharmCAS application and Drake Supplemental Form (including all fees) at the beginning of the second pre-pharmacy year (www.pharmcas.org).
- Complete an interview and writing assessment during the fall semester of the second pre-pharmacy year.
