Welcome to Drake!

Drake University offers the following degrees in the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences:

Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences
The Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences encourages applications to the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences.  Currently the College is accepting applications for students entering directly out of high school or who have completed their first year of biology and chemistry.   This program does not lead to a degree to practice pharmacy; students interested in pharmacy are encouraged to view the Doctor of Pharmacy information.

Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences
Students who have completed two years of Chemistry (inorganic and organic) and are entering their junior year may apply to the Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences program.  Students interested in this program who are not at this point in their education are encouraged to view the Bachelor of Science in  Health Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences track.  This program does not lead to a degree to practice pharmacy; students interested in pharmacy are encouraged to view the Doctor of Pharmacy information.

Doctor of Pharmacy
The Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences welcomes applicants at two entry points into the Doctor of Pharmacy program:

Technical Standards
The applicant should evaluate him or herself for compliance with these technical standards. Submission of the application will serve as testimony of compliance with these standards.

Application and admission materials deadline for pre-pharmacy and PharmD applicants:    Dec. 1 for entrance into the program the following fall.

Are you planning to enroll in a PharmD program for the 2009-2010 academic year?

Transfer students - You are invited to attend the College of Pharmacy and Health Science PharmD Admission Information Session.  We will be holding sessions on:

  • Thursday, September 25th at 10:00 (CPHS facilities tour included)
  • Friday, September 26th at 2:00 (CPHS facilities tour included)
  • Monday, September 29th at 5:00 (CPHS facilities tour included)
  • Monday, October 20th at 5:00 (CPHS facilities tour included)
  • Monday, November 3rd at 5:00 (CPHS facilities tour included)

The PharmCAS application and Drake University supplemental form deadline is December 1, 2008.  Last date to take the PCAT for Drake University is October 18th (sign up deadline October 3rd).  Please refer to  www.drake.edu/cphs for complete information.

Location:  Check in at Cline 106, Hall, Room 106 (Bldg #12 on enclosed campus map)

Parking:  Available in lot #53 on campus map (visitor pay lot) or along Forest Avenue (watch specific street signs).

Topics will include the application process, course requirement information, deadlines, College resources and policies.
