Drake University's Psi Chapter of Phi Delta Chi placed fourth overall nationally in the 2008 Thurston Cup, as announced at the organization's Leadership Development Seminar, held in Austin Texas, Aug 6-10, 2008. The Emory W. Thurston Grand President's Award, (Thurston Cup) is presented to the chapter that has promoted the profession of pharmacy and Phi Delta Chi to the fullest extent during the proceeding year. In addition to this prestigious award, the chapter was recognized by St. Judes and PDC national offices as the chapter raising the most money for Prescription for Hope (approximately $15,000!) Also, the chapter received numerous individual awards. As Dean Raylene Rospond stated, this award demonstrates the commitment of and recognition received by Psi.  The Chapter's ongoing goal for excellence and continued professionalism is one that exemplifies the tenets of Phi Delta Chi and the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Drake University.
