Experiential Education - Students

Program Overview

Drake proudly maintains a reputation for providing quality meaningful experiential learning opportunities for its students that exceed the standards established by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).

Early Experiential Curriculum

New standards have been created by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) in response to a quality improvement initiative within the profession. These changes directly affect early experiential programs, requiring early experiences to consume 5% of the total curriculum during the first three years of the professional pharmacy program.  Drake students will participate in 300+ contact hours during their first three professional years, which are designed to introduce students to the technical and professional expertise required to be effective in each environment and to prepare students for their final year of rotations and for their practice beyond graduation.
