Bringing People Together for the Common Good – Organizing to Make an Impact

Paul Turner, lead organizer for AMOS (A Mid-Iowa Organizing Strategy) in Des Moines, will provide practical information on how to effectively organize caring and enthusiastic everyday citizens in service of a cause larger than themselves. AMOS seeks to channel individual action into a responsible and powerfully-organized force for the common good. Turner will discuss the importance of face-to-face, one-on-one meetings and relationship-building to effectively make a difference through organizing. Attendees will learn how to bring the power of ordinary people to decision-makers, engaging people as they reclaim responsibility for their communities.

AMOS is an affiliate of the Industrial Areas Foundation, the nation's oldest and largest organizing network.
