Undergraduate Research
At Drake University, undergraduate research is an important scholarly activity of faculty and undergraduates in math and science.Distinct features of the undergraduate research experience at Drake include:
- Students have the opportunity to be engaged in collaborative research projects between faculty from the College of Arts & Sciences and the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
- Students are engaged in research projects with faculty that have collaborations with local public and private institutions.
- Faculty closely engage students in research through a mentor-apprentice relationship.
- Students could be engaged in some research projects as early as freshman year.
- Undergraduates showcase their findings at DUCURS (Drake University Conference on Undergraduate Research in the Sciences).
- Undergraduates publish their research findings in journals and present their work at local, regional and national conferences.
