DUSCI Summer Fellowships

DRAKE UNDERGRADUATE SUMMER RESEARCH PROGRAM
This program supports eight weeks of full-time research during June and July. In 2007 eight fellowships have been awarded. Each fellowship provided a student stipend of $3,000 and a faculty stipend of $1,000. Online 2008 Application will be available in January 2008.

Activities supported and organized by DUSCI during the summer include field trips, workshops, weekly research meetings, socials and a final research presentation by participants.

  • Nita Pandit, professor of pharmaceutics, worked with Adam Ericksen of Racine, Wis.

  • Athanasios Petridis, associate professor of physics and astronomy, worked with Zachary Kertzman of Chaska, Minn.

  • Timothy Urness, assistant professor of mathematics, worked with Maren Mann of Abuja, Nigeria; and Zachary Oler of Des Moines.

  • Maria Valdovinos, assistant professor of psychology, worked with Aaron T. Lander of Council Bluffs, Iowa.

  • Craige Wrenn, assistant professor of pharmacology, worked with Christy Willoughby of Overland Park, Kan.
